Week of January 24th

It was another busy week at the club for the maintenance team.  The weather was cold but allowed us to continue both inside and outside work.

We started off the week continuing to lay pavers on cart path edges around the course.  We were able to finish work around 13 green, 14 tee and 6 tee.  As the weather allows we will be continuing this project.  Hole numbers 10 and 11 will be the next areas on our list.

When the weather and ground conditions were favorable we continued removing trees right of #7 green this week to increase sunlight and air movement.  We are close to finishing our winter tree program this year and we hope to have it wrapped up next week.

The pump installation at pump house #6 was completed on Wednesday.  The welders and pump techs were finally able to complete all the pipe fitting and electrical work.  We will turn the water back on next week to inspect all the pump and motor components. The new pump, motor and electrical cabinet will allow us to increase water flow, reduce electrical cost and become more efficient when watering.

We finalized some new course accessories for the two short game areas and the course.  The crew completed custom bag stand/ball bins and yardage posts for the warmup range on hole 13.  They also stained and oiled the new practice green flag sticks and course flag sticks.

Lastly, this week the patio contractors have started installing the pavers.  The patio is starting to take shape and looking great.  Hopefully the weather will continue to allow progress on the patio.
