Week of May 9th

What a great week at The Road.  The weather seems to be finally turning the corner, and the course is really coming to life.  It was another busy week at the club, projects wrapping up and new projects starting.

It is nice to finally say, that we started off the week with some normal routine maintenance.  Our weekly mowing schedule and weekly detail schedule is in full swing.

This week we were able to spray our pre-emergent, post-emergent, and grub control in all the rough.  This is a long task with almost 10 tanks going out this week.

This week we were able to scalp down the new bermuda-grass tee on short game area #2.  The bermuda-grass is really greening up and taking off.  It won't be long before it is ready to open up.  Also we created a walking path through the new native area on hole #3.  The path is wide enough for a foursome to walk side by side down to the bridge.  This path is for walking only, do not drive a golf cart down the walking path to the bridge.  This shouldn't be an issues as all Par 3's are CART PATH ONLY.

We are happy to report that McDonald and Sons finally completed the last area of construction and are officially out of here........................for now.  First, I want to thank our maintenance team for all their help over the last 12 months.  Next, we would like to thank all the members for their support and understanding through all the construction projects and headaches.

The moment you all have been waiting for:  The new practice green, short game area and the 15th tee complex are open for play.  The team will be closely monitoring traffic and other turf issues on these areas and will continue to update the membership on their progress.

Lastly, as the golf course projects are wrapped up, pool projects are in full swing.  This week a new roof was installed on the pool house and the repairs to the baby pool have been started.  Pool projects will continue over the next couple weeks with more upgrades to the pool area and pool house.
