Week of May 30th
We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend. It was a hot and humid week as we started the summer season.
Matt and the team fixed the new irrigation line that settled over the spring and smoothed out the walk up area on the 7th green.
We heard over the last couple weeks that the new flag sticks were difficult to pick up with the yardage lasers and this week we finally received and installed the new prisms on top of the flag sticks. This should fix any issues with picking up the yardage.
One of our crew members, Fernando Sixtos Grande, who has been working on the maintenance team for the last 4 years has taken an interest in becoming a golf course Equipment Manager. Fernando graduated high school last year and is currently enrolled at Lincoln Tech. We have been working with Fernando to get him some hands-on training in the shop. We hope that he continues to learn under Brian Hovermill and pursues his love of being on a golf course and working on equipment.
Lastly, we wanted to thank the members that put together our "Golf Course Etiquette" video. Here is the link to the video that has a lot of great information. And a reminder about the first divot party to be held on Monday, June 6th starting around 6pm. Matt and I will be driving carts full of divot mix and coolers full of beer that will be free for anyone (over 21) who comes out and helps fill divots.
Thanks for reading.
