Week of Aug. 15th

What a beautiful week of weather.  Lows in the 60's and highs in the low 80's, couldn't ask for anything more for mid-August.  The course made it through the summer grind and, with sun angles changing and better weather, things should get a little easier for the maintenance team.

We did have some continuing irrigation repairs to make this week but during the last 2 weeks irrigation repairs have slowed down a bit.  Hope I didn't just jinx that.  I'm sure with the irrigation season still months away from being over we will have plenty more repairs but the crew has done an awesome job keeping up with the irrigation system.

It was nice to have a normal week of maintenance.  The team knocked out all the standard weekly maintenance practices, mowing and all weekly detail work was completed.

We were able to apply our second application in the new native areas this week.  We are happy so far with the 2 applications and we are seeing great results.  We will have 1 more application to apply before seeding.

We had some time this week to get in the older native areas and cut down some weeds that popped up so we will be able to spray these areas next week to continue to keep them as clean as possible.

The clubhouse repairs were in full swing this week.  The paver crew completed the men's locker room entrance and the main entrance this week.  The painting crew is knocking it out of the park on the back side of the clubhouse and it is looking awesome.

Lastly, this past Wednesday August 17th was officially 4 years for me at RRGC.  It has gone fast.  I wanted to thank all the members, staff and especially the maintenance team for all they have done to make the last 4 years enjoyable.  As a club it is amazing what we have accomplished together in a short period of time.

Thanks for reading.
