Week of Nov. 14th
What a roller-coaster of weather the past week. I was wearing shorts last Saturday watching my son's soccer game, came back to work on Monday and didn't have enough layers on. I shouldn't be surprised with our weather but Mother Nature will always have the final say in the best laid out plans.
The team and I were planning on starting winter projects this week and punching rough but the cold, rainy weather changed our plans. With frost every morning the team was able to remove all flowers and cut down all ornamental grasses around the property before the frost lifted.
We also heard this week that the new siding for the maintenance shop was being made and could be here by the end of the month. So the team started clearing out the back of the shop to get ready for the siding. As you are playing you will see some of our equipment outside the shop fence. This is temporary and will be moved back in once the siding project is complete.
Also this week the entire RRGC Management Team received CPR/AED and Frist Aid recertification.
You will also notice that we have covered the Bermuda-Grass chipping area this week with the cold weather setting in. There has been some questions and confusion about the short game area and the practice area. The short game/warm up area between holes 12 and 13 will remain open for the winter just please stay off the turf cover. Starting December 5th the practice area next to the pro-shop and 1st tee will be closed for the winter. This means all areas (putting green, practice fairway and practice bunker) will be closed. If you have any questions please come find me or Kevin Grady.
The team pulled in the fans on holes 6 and 11 this week. These fans have been a game changer for these 2 greens that are pocketed because of tress and fence over growth.
Lastly, this week we finally took delivery of the new Rolling Road clock. It was all hands on deck including the Mini-Ex to install the clock. The installation went smoothly.
