Week of January 8th
With the warm weather and the course drying out, it was a very productive week for the maintenance team.
We started off the week tackling some tree work. Some of the work is on the master plan opening up sight lines around the course and the other tree work that was caused by the Christmas week storms.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the team switched gears and completed drainage work on hole #8. The approach on the 8th hole is a wetter spot after rain events making it unsuitable to mow. The crew added 2 lateral pipes connecting into an existing drain.
Also on Wednesday we continued improvements around the maintenance shop. Juan and Marlon cleaned, etched and painted the old fading garage doors to match the new colors of the shop.
We took advantage of the warmer weather and dry course conditions to get ahead of forecasted rain storms on Thursday to mow tees, approaches and fairways. After the mow Fernando was able to sneak in another application of topdressing sand on all tees and approaches.
Lastly, we finally had an opportunity to break out our new boom lift and get some training time in. The team we be utilizing this lift to limb up trees around the property to improve turf health and playability.
