Week of Feb. 13th
Mid 60's and almost 70 degrees this week. This weather pattern has been different. I just hope we don't make up for this warm weather with a cold March and April. The team had a busy week and they are getting excited for the upcoming season.
During the end of last week the crew finished the drainage project on hole 17 and harvested native area sod from around the course to cover up all the drainage work.
On Monday the team started prepping the course for a truck load of sod coming next Tuesday. We will be sodding the new walking paths through the native areas and miscellaneous areas around the course.
Also this week we continued working around the course trimming up in-play trees for better playability and sight lines.
Lastly, I know there as been lots of talk about the tree work on the perimeter of the property. With the help from Mr. Rees, the Board and our tree contractor we are going to start to see some action. We had a meeting with the SHA last week and are waiting to hear back from them about the tree work on Rolling Road, and this week we had a meeting with BGE and their tree contractor to start the work on Wilkens Ave. If the weather cooperates we should see some work being done at the end of this week or early next week. Please be mindful if you see tree work being completed - do not go near the area of work.
