Week of April 3rd

What a great week.  I know I always say it, but this crew continues to do an amazing job - day in and day out.  This week we focused on continuing to wrap up projects and even started some new ones.

The team started off the week spreading mulch around the club.  80 yards of mulch was placed and spread in just one day.

On Tuesday we wrapped up some lingering sod projects around the course.  We still have many areas around the course that we would like to sod and will most likely finish up next week.

Also this week we were able to get another fertilizer application out on all sodded areas - new and old.  We know that some of the areas are still not growing and filling in but we have high hopes that these areas will continue to improve during the spring.  The team will continue to work on these areas to promote growth and density.

We completed our third and last application for Poa seed-head control.  Even with the crazy weather we've had we feel that we timed the application well and are happy with the control.  Over the next couple weeks the sprayers will be busy getting all of our pre-summer applications out.

Lastly, the big project this week was the new plantings at the clubhouse.  The team did an amazing job receiving, prepping and planting over 400 perennials, shrubs and trees this week.  A big thanks goes out to one of our members, Adam Boarman, for all his help planning and designing these areas.  They turned out great.
