Week of May 8th

It was another busy week at the club.  The crew had an amazing work week, with outings and a member tournament the team was able to complete all weekly task and some projects.

On Monday and Tuesday I was down in D.C. helping run the National Golf Day service project.  We had over 200 turf industry volunteers, 35 different states represented and over one million dollars of donated equipment and tools - all to help the National Park Service with planting over 1200 perennials, 12 pallets of sod and spreading 4 truckloads of mulch.

This week we were able to spray every blade of rough with our pre-/post-emergent herbicides and season-long grub control.

Also this week we started much needed cart path repairs.  Our asphalt contractors were able to complete the cart path on 11 green and start the path on hole 14.  Over the next couple weeks we will continue repairing carts paths on holes 5, 7, 8 and 17.

Lastly, this week the team completed a round of aerification on the practice green.  With the busy spring the practice green has been getting a lot of use and needed to be punched to work on compaction and water infiltration due to the sod layer.
