Week of Aug. 28th
Last week of August!!!!!!!! Well this week started off cloudy and damp, but ended off sunny, cooler, but dry. The team had a great week catching up on weekly tasks, working on native areas and preparing for Club Championship Weekend.
We started off the week catching up on weekly details that were skipped last week and normal weekly maintenance.
With the dry spring we had and the dryer weather coming up we work on our fairway edges where our irrigation system lacks the most. This is Fernando spray only outside the sprinkler heads with more wetting agent to help with localized dry spots. The team followed the sprayer around and water the product in after the spray.
The big project this week was getting the new native areas seeded. This process starts with scalping down these areas followed by our debris vacuum. After the clean up we punch and seeded.
Once the seed is in the ground we come back the following day and spray these areas with a preemergent herbicide to keep the weeds out. Following the spray the herbicide is washed off the leaf blade. This Friday we will start watering these areas heavily for seed germination. As with all native areas please keep carts out of these areas.
Thanks for reading and good luck to all the members playing this weekend.
