Week of Oct. 9th

Another beautiful weather week at the club.  The team took advantage of the nice weather and had an amazing week.

We started off the week working on greens texture.  During the first couple days this week we groomed, brushed and double cut the greens helping stand the grass up for a nice clean cut.

The team also continued working on the rough this week.  They were able to punch, seed and drag all sodded areas and thin areas from the last couple years of projects.  The plan will be to fertilize these areas before this weekend's rain.

Now that the nursery is all filled in from the seeding we completed a couple weeks ago the crew worked on lowering the height of cut and smoothing out the surface with a heavy application of topdressing.  We will continue to work on the nursery over the next couple weeks so we will be able to harvest the sod for winter projects.

Also this week the team was able to work on all fairway expansions and the practice fairway.  They solid punched and top-dressed these areas using a 7-2-1 mix to help water infiltration and increasing the organic matter in the soil.

Lastly this week we had time to bring in the fans from the course for winter service and storage, and we were able to apply our fall herbicide application in the older native areas.  For the remainder of the week the crew will be working on fertilizer applications and getting ready for the weekend.
