Week of Nov.27th

The maintenance team hopes everyone had a great holiday last week.  This week was a very cold and windy week.  The team fought through the weather and had a great last week of November.

The main focus this week was our winter aerification to all the greens.  The process this year was to be aggressive but to have less impact on next spring's golfing season.  The team started out by topdressing all the greens followed by a 1/2" deep tine that went 10" deep.  After the deep tine we punched a 3/8" solid tine followed by a 3/8" coring tine.

Once the cores where dry enough we dragged all the material and sand into the holes. Then the crew blew off the remaining debris followed by a brush roll and a regular roll.  The team finished all the greens by the end of the day Tuesday with just some clean up on Wednesday.

After greens aerification was complete the team switched gears and started cleaning up leaves left behind from the winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Lastly, we wanted to inform the membership that the Bermuda-grass hitting area will be closed and covered for the rest of the winter. Now that greens aerification is complete the putting green and practice area will be closed until next spring.  Also, we have put out our winter tees and have cut double cups in the greens.
