Week of March 11th
What a beautiful week, with highs in the 70's it really felt like spring this week. The course is starting to green up and lose its winter color. Our team enjoyed the weather and stayed very busy continuing projects around the course and getting the course ready for a busy golf week.
The team started off the week laying a truckload of sod. We focused on stump holes, irrigation expansion areas and other areas around the course that got beat up from winter work. We will be getting one more truckload of sod next week to finish everything up.
At the beginning of the week we did see some very strong winds. We even recorded gusts in the 60mph range. After the winds calmed - and in between sod pallets - the team spent some time blowing, raking and cleaning up debris around the course.
Lastly, now that handicap season is finally here the team spent all day Wednesday and Thursday mowing all short grass, going back to a single cup in the greens, raking bunkers, and putting the full set of tee markers and traffic control back out on the course. Friday the team will be focused on watering all the sod and getting ready for a great weekend of golf.
