Week of May 13th

Another rainy week.  It seems like we are stuck in this pattern of rainy weekends, more rain in the middle of the week and then another rainy weekend.  The team didn't miss a beat this week.  They were unable to stay on the weekly mowing schedule but despite the weather we had a very busy and productive week.

After the rainy Mothers Day weekend the team started off the week focused on details before our Monday outing.  They were able to complete a full course bunker detail, and divot patrol on fairways and tees.

While the Monday outing was on the course, the team continued work on the Orchard.  They trimmed the new and old trees, spread some much on the new trees for moisture retention and started preparing for a new and exciting project.  More details to come next week on this project.

With the forecast of more rain Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday the team completed a full course mow out, top-dressed and brushed greens and was able to complete our season long slow release fertilizer application on tees, fairways and rough.

Fernando and Brian took advantage of the rain day on Wednesday to grind all the greens mowers.  The weekly application of sand on the greens puts a hurting on the reels and bed-knives which makes Brian's and Fernando's job a little harder but these 2 have been on top of the mowers all season.

The rain on Wednesday didn't stop the work out on the course.  We were able to complete another satellite box swap on hole 6.  The swap from old to new is very time consuming and mentally draining. Each box takes about 3 hours to complete.  We have completed two satellite boxes so far and will continue to use rainy days for this project.

Lastly, the team will spend the remainder of the week focused on a full course mow out when its a little dryer and getting ready for the weekend.  Hopefully the forecast changes and we can get some golf in this weekend.
