Week of May 6th
The team did an amazing job this week fighting through fog, rain storms, heat and humidity which felt like the first week of July not the first full week of May. It was a very busy week for the maintenance department but, as always, the crew crushed it.
We started off the week with another irrigation expansion on hole 16. This area by the forward tee gets crushed with cart traffic and had no irrigation. The team added 80 feet of pipe and wire with the addition of one sprinkler to eliminate the use of hand watering the rough.
After the course dried out a little for last weekends rain, the team completed a full course mow out on all rough and short grass before the next round of storms. I did not think we would be able to complete the mow out in one day, but the team said they could do it and it cost me pizza for lunch on Friday.
It was a busy week for the sprayers. During the middle of the week we completed spraying greens, tees, fairways and all rough with pre/post-emergent herbicides, our season long grub control and fungicides.
Our flower delivery came in this week and the team wasted no time. In one day the crew was able to install 102 flats which is over 1200 individual flowers around the property.
For the remainder of the week the team will be getting ready for our 1-Day Member Guest and dodging the rain. We hope everyone has a great weekend and a very happy Mother's Day.
