Week of Nov. 18th

Another mild week to start, finally some decent rain Wednesday night, then cold and windy for the end of the week.  It was another busy week for the maintenance team.   The week started off with fence line trimming.  After the team trimmed back the overgrowth on the fence last week, they brought out our lift to start trimming back the trees and branches above the fence line.   The last quick couple was installed this week.  This was the final step in Phase 3 of winter irrigation work.  The team did an amazing job installing over 70 quick couplers on fairways and tees.   Once Phase 3 was completed the team wasted no time starting on Phase 4 of winter irrigation upgrades, installing new rough heads in high traffic areas.  They completed holes 6, 7 and 14 this week.  We are installing heads in the areas that we spend a lot of time hand watering.  This Phase will be a long process.   You may notice this week s...

After a week of 70's and 80's this week started off the same and then turned chilly and windy.  It was another busy week for the maintenance team.   This week the team started trimming back the fence line.  As you can imagine this is a long process.   Another busy week.  The weather has been beautiful for the first full week of November.  Well above average temperatures and sun shine everyday.  The maintenance team took full advantage of the weather and had a great week.     Leaf cleanup was in full swing this week.  This has been the first week that leaf cleanup has been an everyday task.  The wind this week has made it a challenge. We still have a lot of leaves on the trees so blowing and cleanup will be a focus for the next couple of weeks.      The team continued working on Phase 3 of our irrigation upgrades this week. So far the crew has installed 62 new quick couplers in fairways and tees.  They only have 10 more to install so this phase should be wrapped up by next week.  Once completed we will switch gears to Phase 4 which is the addition of rough sprinklers in certain areas around the course.   The drought continued to grow this week....
