Week of Nov. 11th

After a week of 70's and 80's this week started off the same and then turned chilly and windy.  It was another busy week for the maintenance team.

This week the team started trimming back the fence line.  As you can imagine this is a long process. The team starts this project with a demo-ed piece of equipment called a Ventrac Boom Mower.  The Boom Mower is a big hedge trimmer that cuts all the overgrowth down.  Once the overgrowth is cut the team rakes the debris away from the fence, followed by our debris vacuum.  Please bear with us on this project.

We continued installing quick couples on fairways this week.  The crew was able to complete holes 1 and 6.  Hole 1 took the team a little longer because we had to move a sprinkler head that was installed with the incorrect spacing.  We are still hoping to finish installation of the quick couplers this week, but with the fence project we might have to finish the last hole next week.

Also this week we needed to run a couple of wires to one sprinkler on the 2nd hole.  This was one of the last sprinklers that was still doubled up and the install of the new wires has this area individually wired now.

With the high winds on Tuesday the team focused of leaf clean up in the middle of the week.

With the forecast of rain for Thursday evening the team completed a light topdressing application on all greens and applied our winter fertilizer application to rough.

Lastly, the team will spend Friday cleaning up the fence line and getting the course ready for what looks like a nice weekend for golf.
