Week of June 23rd

  The last full week of June was a tough one.  HOT HOT HOT was the story this week.  The team fought through the hottest weather we have seen in a long time.  Temps soared in the upper 90's with heat indexes over 110°F.  The course held up very well considering the weather and heavy play, mostly because the team did an amazing job.   The team braved through the heat to complete all weekly details.   The main focus was keeping the grass cool and alive.  The team spent long days syringing to prepare for (and work through) events and tournaments.  Morning prep was the key to surviving this week.     Many have already noticed that last week we installed Coach's tree near the 12th green.   Lastly, with very little rain this week and and high temperatures forecasted, the team will be focused on moisture management and prepping the course for the weekend.   Thanks for reading.

Week of June 9th

  Another busy week for the maintenance team.  Our team had an amazing week not only completing normal weekly tasks but also getting ready for summer weather to finally arrive.   The team started off the week venting greens followed by a light top-dressing and soil spray application.  These processes are the first round heading into summer weather.   This week was a heavy spray week.  Not only completing the soil spray on greens but also spraying all tees, greens, fairways and rough with plant nutrition, pre-summer plant stress, and weekly fungicide applications. All weekly details were completed this week, as well as a full bunker trim and sand depth check.   Native areas have been a hot topic of discussion this spring.  I feel it is a good thing that we continue to adjust the golf course after the renovations and the introduction of native areas to the course.  This week we started looking at some areas that have created prob...
