Week of March 9th

  The "Flip Flop" March weather continued this week.  From record highs to thunderstorms, wind, cold temps and even some snow showers.  The team had a very productive week.   We started off the week applying our first round of Poa seedhead control on greens and fairways.  This applications prevents the Poa plant from seeding which allows for better playing conditions and also strengthens the plant for the summer months.     The snow and ice we received this winter has put the team behind on some winter projects.  This week the team continued punching rough around the course.  We are over 50% complete and will continue punching rough over the next few weeks.  We hope to be completed by the end of the month.     Our tree contractor was out this week grinding all the stumps from winter tree work.  A full two days was needed to complete the grinding.  We will start the process of cleaning the stump grinding...

Week of March 2nd

  Tough week.  We had it all: 60 degrees, snow, rain and fog.  The team had a very productive week even with all the weather challenges. The team finished up in-house tree work this week removing a spruce tree on the 8th tee box.  Now that tree work is completed we will have our tree company here next week to grind all stumps and limb dead wood out of some trees around the course.   The crew battled through snow and rain in the middle of the week and continued sand depth checks in the bunkers. This is a process to check all areas for proper depth, then moving and adding sand where needed.  They will be around 75% complete at the end of the week and should have no problem finishing next week.   We found some time this week to power wash the back of the clubhouse.  As the weather warms up the team will continue power washing other areas around the property.   Also this week we tackled an irrigation issue left over from last seaso...
