Week of January 24th

It was another busy week at the club for the maintenance team.  The weather was cold but allowed us to continue both inside and outside work. We started off the week continuing to lay pavers on cart path edges around the course.  We were able to finish work around 13 green, 14 tee and 6 tee.  As the weather allows we will be continuing this project.  Hole numbers 10 and 11 will be the next areas on our list.     When the weather and ground conditions were favorable we continued removing trees right of #7 green this week to increase sunlight and air movement.  We are close to finishing our winter tree program this year and we hope to have it wrapped up next week.   The pump installation at pump house #6 was completed on Wednesday.  The welders and pump techs were finally able to complete all the pipe fitting and electrical work.  We will turn the water back on next week to inspect all the pump and motor components. The new pump, motor and electrical cabinet will allow us to increase wat

This week brought more of the same.  The week started off cold, snowy and windy.  We had a little mid-week warm up to give us hope that the course would open up.  Then the week ended with more winter weather and cold.   We were able to open the course last weekend for the brave. A weather front moved in Sunday night and Monday morning adding a thin blanket of snow and ice to the course.  We will continue to update course conditions as they change and it becomes safe to open.    The crew has made a huge dent into the refurbishing of our course accessories this week.  We will continue to use the cold mornings and snow cover to finish up this winter project.    This winter weather has also given us the time to run back through all our record keeping from the previous year and get everything dialed in for this upcoming season.  This allows us to look back at all of our programs to see what worked, what didn't work, and helps us fine tune our programs.   During the mid-week warm up the

This week started off cold and windy.  We have had a little warming late in the week but the course has remained closed due to snow cover.  Your RRGC maintenance team has been staying very productive even with the sub-freezing temps.   Here are a couple pictures of the current snow cover around the course as of Thursday morning. Hole 5 and #6 tee complex which are some of the last areas to melt.  The cart paths on these two areas are still extremely icy and dangerous to pass with golf carts.   The tee complex on hole 17 and the green side of the creek on hole 16.  Snow lingering around due to tree shade. While we wait for the sun to come up and the temperatures to rise a bit, the crew has been starting their mornings inside.  We have started the process of prepping and refurbishing all course accessories.  This includes all tee markers, cart directional signs, flag sticks, bunker rakes, water cooler houses, yardage posts, trash cans and so much more. This week we have continued with ou

Happy new year to all the RRGC Family and I would like to welcome you to our new RRGC Maintenance Blog.  The intentions of this Blog is to keep the RRGC Members up to speed on things going on around the course. It has been a busy last week of 2021 and first week of 2022.   We have started installing curbs on cart path edges where it seems difficult to keep all 4 tires of the golf cart on the path.  We are using the bricks that came off the old Club House Patio.  Our assistant Matt and our youngest crew member Fernando started here on 2 and 9 tee.  This will be an ongoing project as there are many areas around the course that cart tires seem to ride on the edge of the cart path.  The Patio Project is in full swing.  The contractors have installed all the pillars and have now started on the walls around the fire pits.  This is a awesome project for the club that I know all of us can't wait to see the finial product.  There have been a lot of questions about the 15th tee area.  The hu
