Week of February 28th

What a great weather week for some early season golf and projects around the club.

The team started off the week installing irrigation pipes and utilities in preparation for the parking project.  We also needed to remove the tree near the pro-shop for the new cart staging area.  

On Tuesday we added irrigation to the rough on hole 18 next to the maintenance shop.  This addition will not only help keep the rough alive in a high play area but will help with irrigation coverage in the fairway due to poor sprinkler head spacing.  

We continued punching all sod areas from last year's bunker and tee project to help with compaction and traffic.  We will try to punch these areas 2 more times before the summer.  

With the great weather this week we were able to get the root pruner out.  Eddie completed root pruning all trees and fence lines around the property.  Pruning tree roots reduces the competition for water and nutrients between trees and turf grass leading to healthier turf. 

Lastly this week we were able to cut fairways, tees and approaches for the first time in 2022. Hopefully this weather keeps up to allow the team to continue getting ready for a great season.
