Week of Sept. 5th

This week started off with our Club Championship Finals.  It was a great day to watch some great golf.  It is definitely my favorite weekend of the year.  Congratulations to all the players and to all of our 2022 Champions.

Monday night and Tuesday morning the course finally received a much needed slow soaking rain.  A little over 2.5" of rain fell.  It was nice to have some time for shop cleaning and organizing.  The crew needed a break from dragging hoses.

One Wednesday we took advantage of the break from watering to knock out more irrigation repairs including 1 underneath the 1st green.  The crew was able to repair a total of 7 leaks around the course.

Also on Wednesday we turned on the groomers and brushes on all short grass mowers to work on texture.  Continuing to use the brushes and groomers will allow us to lower heights and increase overall turf density.  We will be using the brushes and groomers throughout the fall.

The big project that started this week is the improvement to the short game area and 1st tee.  We will be rerouting the cart path on hole #1 and expanding the short game area.  Also we will be working on #16 gold tee and repairing the fairway bunker on hole #9.

Lastly, we lost a couple days to the holiday and rain so we are behind on seeding the new native areas.  We are hopeful that we will be able to start seeding these areas Friday and finish next week.
