Week of March 27th

The team had another great week.  They had to battle some rain and frost but had a very productive week.  The course is really starting to take shape for the last full week of March.

The main focus this week was finishing fairway aeration.  We headed into the week with 7 fairways remaining and the crew crushed it finishing the fairways by Wednesday.

Also during the beginning of the week we were able to get a clean cut on greens without picking up any sand.  We are now down to in-season heights on greens and will start working on the texture of the greens next week.

On Thursday we completed a dry mow and blow on fairways to help clean up any remaining debris from fairway aeration.

After the dry mow and blow we were able to get our last poa seed-head suppression spray done on all fairways.

We had to start cutting rough this week.  With the warmer weather the rough is starting to grow a little earlier this year.  I believe this is the earliest we have had to start mowing rough in all the seasons I have been here.

Lastly, we will be spending the last part of the week cleaning up the debris left behind from aeration and getting ready for a busy weekend of golf.  Hope to see everyone at the club.
