Week of Dec. 1st

Well below average temperatures, rain, wind and some snow showers this week. The weather this week felt more like January than the 1st week of December.  It was a tough week to be outside but our team made the best of it and had a great week.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is ready for the Christmas season.  The team started off the week installing Christmas decorations around the clubhouse grounds.

The team took advantage of the washout on Tuesday to get all the equipment power washed and the outside of the maintenance building cleaned up.

With the cold weather setting in the crew drained the irrigation system and prepped the pumphouses for winterization.  This season was the best season we have had with our irrigation system.  The continued club investments and upgrades have helped with limiting irrigation issues this year.

With frosty mornings hindering work on the grass, the team started some tree work this week. They tackled some dead trees close to the 6th tee box that posed major safety risks.  Tree work is always a hot topic but tree work is crucial for safety, turfgrass health and playability.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns regarding tree work around the club.

Also, this week we started a drainage project on hole 18 and with no surprise we ran into some issues.  Seems like every other drainage project we tackle there are some complications with old Terracotta pipe.  This pipe is part of the pool drainage system that we found cracked and ready to fail.  Once we receive the parts for the repair the team will finish this project.

Lastly, now that handicap season is past us, the team has set up the course for winter.  Winter tees are out and double cups are in the greens. Please rotate the flags after you putt out and only tee off from the designated teeing areas.
