Week of March 9th

The "Flip Flop" March weather continued this week.  From record highs to thunderstorms, wind, cold temps and even some snow showers.  The team had a very productive week.

We started off the week applying our first round of Poa seedhead control on greens and fairways.  This applications prevents the Poa plant from seeding which allows for better playing conditions and also strengthens the plant for the summer months.

The snow and ice we received this winter has put the team behind on some winter projects.  This week the team continued punching rough around the course.  We are over 50% complete and will continue punching rough over the next few weeks.  We hope to be completed by the end of the month.

Our tree contractor was out this week grinding all the stumps from winter tree work.  A full two days was needed to complete the grinding.  We will start the process of cleaning the stump grindings and back-filling the holes this week and next week.

During the middle of the week we had a Grounds Team staff meeting lead by GM Adam.  During this meeting Adam included our team, discussing 2025 accomplishments and goals for 2026.

Bunker work continued this week, checking sand depths and sodding some high traffic areas.  The team is waiting for the sand plants to open back up to receive a load of sand to complete the last hole.

Also this week our Equipment Manager Fernando continued all winter service and grinding on our equipment to get ready for the season.

Before the rain this week our new Assistant Tim Steindl found some time to sneak in a wetting agent application to all bunker faces and Fairy Ring spots.  This applications will help move water though the soil profile.

Lastly, for the remainder of the week, we will be focused on cleaning up the course from the storms, getting ready for the weekend and the start of handicap season.
