Week of May 25th

Rough start to the week but a beautiful ending.  It was a tough work week with all the rain last weekend, but our team made the best of it and had a very productive week.

Last weekend was not great timing but brought much needed rain to help with the drought.  From last Thursday through this Wednesday the course received 5.2" of rain.  Even with all the rain over the last week we are still in a drought and currently 4" behind for the year.

The team started off the week spiking greens to help introduce oxygen into the saturated soils from the rain.  Also, we worked on texture double cutting green with the groomers engaged.  Groomers help stand up the grass for a better cut and playability.  We will continue grooming greens every week throughout the rest of the spring and early summer.

This week was a busy spray week to help get ahead of Member Guest next week.  All short grass was sprayed with our weekly programs, rough was sprayed with our monthly rough programs and native areas were spot sprayed for early season weed control.

With the forecast of more rain Wednesday afternoon the team walk spread season long insecticide for Chinch Bugs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  This is a very labor intensive job, walking over 12 acres of native areas.

Lastly, for the end of the week the team will be concentrating on finishing up any spraying, a full mow out, details and getting ready for what looks like a great weather weekend for golf.
