Another beautiful weather week at the Club.  Our maintenance team had a very busy and productive week.  They are firing on all cylinders and are excited for the upcoming season.      This week the team was able to aerate the last 3 fairways.  This process is needed to help with water infiltration and relieve compaction setting us up for the season.   The irrigation system was fired up this week.  With the cold winter we were expecting some issue.  The team completed 6 irrigation leaks this week.  We have started testing the system for proper functionality and should finish testing by the end of the week.     Also this week the team laid out 18 pallets of sod.  Some areas were sodded because of tree work and thin spots from last season, but most areas that need to be sodded were cart path edges around greens and tees.  These cart path areas have been sodded every year and continue to be an issue....

Another beautiful weather week and with last weekend's rains the course is waking up.  The warmth this week was a nice treat and hopefully continues.  Our team had a great week.   The main focus this week was fairway aerification.  The team knocked out 2 fairways last week and 7 so far this week.  Depending on the weather at the end of the week we might be able to complete a couple more fairways and hope to finish next week. Please bear with us during this process.  We are trying to complete fairway aeration without course closures to limit disruption to the membership.  That said, you can expect to see the team performing clean up tasks and there will be some cart restrictions to minimize tire tracking.  Thank you for your patience as we complete this work. Also this week we completed our second round of seedhead control on greens. The new siding at the pump house on hole 6 was completed this week and the team painted the pump house o...

What a great week of weather.  Chilly mornings and warm afternoons was the story this week.  The team had an very busy week finishing winter projects and getting the course ready for handicap season.   We started off the week soil testing greens, tees and fairways with a new technology called RX-360.  This type of soil test not only gives us recommendations on what is needed to be applied, it also pinpoints certain areas for targeted fertilizer and soil amendment applications.       The big project this week was the irrigation upgrades and expansions on holes 6 and 11.  A little over 17,000 feet of wire was plowed into the fairways and rough to wire up 30 new sprinklers.  These sprinklers were added to help water areas of the fairways outside the our existing sprinklers.   After the wire was installed the team watered, rolled and tamped the trenches from the vibratory plow.  The last steps to this upgrade invol...

Up and down weather for the first full week of March.  This week started off chilly, then turned warm with thunderstorms in the middle of the week - and ended windy with seasonal temperatures.  The maintenance team had a very busy week and are finishing the winter strong.   The team started off the week finishing landscape improvements in the parking lot.  They removed all the old grasses, pavers and installed 16 bushes to update this area. Also, at the start of this week we punched and seeded stump hole areas around the property.     The team put the final touches on all course accessories, installed new divot bottle stations and finished all staining around the course.  Course accessories will start going out on the course next week.    Matt was able to apply of first spray of 2025 on fairways this week.  This application was targeting seedheads on Poa.  Restricting seedhead production allows for a stronger plant ...
